Difficulty: Medium: The terrain on Portland is uneven in places with paths, tracks across varying terrain with inclines to the top of fields to gain vantage points. Portland Harbour there are maintained paths with moderate slopes. Lodmoor / Radipole RSPB: maintained paths can be muddy or wet in places.

Whether it is your first visit or you are returning to UK shores join me on a Portland Port Cruise Excursion in the scenic surroundings of Weymouth and Portland's premier bird watching nature reserves.
Guided bird tours will be designed to maximize your time in the field and can focus on general birding, a wish list of species or to focus on life birds. This can incorporate many short stops at key locations to maximize the number and variety of species you see on the day.
Sites visited will factor in the time the ship is in port including a return to Portland Castle in good time to catch the complimentary passenger bus service back to the quayside. Busses run regularly throughout the day with the last bus departing one hour before the ships departure. (Map provided)
A full day tour can present the opportunity to venture further into Dorset to observe woodland, farmland or heathland birds.

Difficulty: Varies: We can walk a reserve or drive to several key locations on the reserve and record the species in the area. This will keep walking distances to a minimum.

Difficulty: Medium: The hotspots are all within a short walk from each car-park. The terrain varies and can be uneven in places with maintained paths, tracks through woodland with inclines up hills to reach raptor viewing points. Paths can be muddy or flooded after rain. Distance covered on foot throughout the day between 1 and 3 miles.
